1st February 2008 - paris chat

David Law exhibition @ 10 Rue BRISE MICHE
We arrived at about 8.30pm , late as usual, or shall i say fashionably late ( the way it needs to be ). It is the 2nd exhibition we have been too. It was held at a small bar near hotel de Ville. The photographs were without a doubt creative, well printed and completely different to what i have ever seen. Mannequins.. they really are mannequins , not just the french translation for models. I still cant believe that is a mannequin, I think he added some real life model's eye's in these shots! Besides the great art pieces, we drooled over the italian sausage, ritz biscuits and punch which were offered to all guests at the exhibition...mmm food , the key to my heart!

we left at around 9.30 and headed to Truskel another bar near the bourse metro where bands play live. We got completely lost for 30 min , although if my husband Brad had only listened to my directions in the first place, we would have found the place in about 5 min. But you know men, they can never admit to the woman knowing the correct directions ! The reason for going to truskel is because Brad is wanting to get into shooting bands. So Jex and the Bumpkins were playing live that night. We got inside, bought a beer and stood listening to Jex. I must say it was not there best performance, although speaking to Raphael Colins ( guitarist) later after the show, he informed me that it was a bad concert and they had problems with there guitar and Max ( the lead singer and guitarist ) was really not into singing that night. I met both band members about 3 or 4 months ago @ the Shebeen where i take random pics of everybody. I spotted Max and loved his hair so we exchange numbers and thats how i know them. Beer is well priced at 5 euro for a draught. I also met up with Pierre ( lead singer of Tatianas ) and flora ( his manager ). Pierre is a writing lyrics genius. He is only 18 years old . I have heard that while talking to him certain words you say spark something off in his creative brain and he will bugger off and go write a song master piece. Incredible. Besides that, he has a certain style about him. Long hair, full lips, a strong jaw line and is always wearing a hat. He is a real rockstar.
